Kael Coleman has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance, reinsurance, and finance industries. Kael is the Founder and CEO of Protecdiv, a technology-powered, relationship-based insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm.

Prior to Protecdiv, Kael led the global mortgage reinsurance team at Willis Re, the reinsurance arm of Willis Towers Watson.  There, he built relationships with, and placed mortgage risk transfer into the global reinsurance market for, several government-related entities and international banks.  He also led the team that built the first broker-developed loan-level mortgage default predictive model.

Kael spent time at Guy Carpenter and Holborn, where he met and worked closely with Protecdiv COO, Paul Little and Protecdiv CTO/CiSO, Lester Pierre.  At these brokers, Kael worked with clients of all sizes from global top-10 insurers to single state mutuals.  He placed risk transfer transactions across property, casualty, workers’ compensation, umbrella, life/accident/health, auto/transportation, E&O, and mortgage lines of business.

Before (re)insurance, Kael co-founded PAI Capital, a long/short equity hedge.  Prior to PAI, Kael led equity trading teams at Susquehanna International Group.

Kael is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He holds a B.S. degree in Economics, with concentrations in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing.  Kael holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associates in Reinsurance (ARe) designations and was a registered representative with a Series 7 license, which is currently lapsed.  Kael is a licensed insurance broker and a licensed reinsurance broker.
